All route prices →How do you get from Izmir Airport to Edremit?
From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Edremit it is about 190 km, a drive that on most days takes 2.5–3 hours. After leaving the terminal we pass Menemen and Aliaga and head north on the Izmir–Canakkale road. Once Ayvalik, Gomec and Burhaniye are behind us, the road curves towards the innermost point of the gulf and we drive into the Edremit plain.
Edremit town sits a little back from the shore, on a wide plain. As you approach, olive groves stretch across the plain, and to the north the slopes of Mount Ida (Kazdaglari) rise behind the town.
If you would like a short stop for the children or for older passengers, just add it to your booking note; we work out the estimated arrival time with the break included and let you know.
Where do people stay in Edremit?
Edremit town is where the everyday life of the gulf happens: the bazaar, the market, public offices and the hospital are all here. Many people come not so much for a holiday as for a family visit, for work or for an appointment, so the address you are heading to may be a relative’s home, a workplace or the hospital just as often as a hotel.
Whatever the address, we check the location on the map beforehand and bring the vehicle to the door of the building. If you need to get to an appointment soon after landing, just mention it in your booking; we tell you the estimated arrival time in advance.
To the north, on the lower slopes of Mount Ida, there are mountain villages that also belong to Edremit. If you are staying in one of them, or in Zeytinli or Gure on the coast, send us the location and we tell you in advance which fare applies.
Edremit town or Edremit district?
Edremit is the name of both a town and a large district, which is why it matters to tell them apart when you book. Akcay, Zeytinli, Gure and Altinoluk on the northern shore also belong to Edremit. An address that simply says “Edremit” does not mean you will be staying in the town; the hotel may be by the sea. Akcay and Altinoluk have their own prices.
Burhaniye, on the southern shore of the gulf, is a separate district; Oren belongs to it, and the area has a route of its own.
Balikesir Koca Seyit Airport is in Edremit, but it has fewer flight options. That is why many travellers to the gulf fly into Izmir, which has more connections, and cover the rest by road.
How much is a transfer from Izmir Airport to Edremit?
Our fare to Edremit is €160 / ₺8.800 per vehicle, one way. Whether several of you are coming for a family visit or you are travelling alone on business, the fare is the same. One vehicle is enough for up to 7 passengers, and for larger groups we arrange an extra vehicle via WhatsApp.
We do not ask for any payment in advance; you pay in cash once the ride is over. On a return trip you pay the two one-way fares separately, each at the end of its own ride. Akcay, Altinoluk and Burhaniye have their own fares; for Zeytinli, Gure or the mountain villages we look at your address and tell you the fare in advance.
Returning from Edremit to Izmir Airport
On the way back we can pick you up from your hotel in town, the house you are staying at or your workplace. If you are going straight from an appointment to the airport, you can give us that address as the pickup point too.
We set the pickup time together with you, taking into account your flight time and the road from the gulf down to Izmir. If you are not sure exactly when your appointment will end, telling us beforehand makes it easier to plan together.
On the way back we drive, as on the way in, via Burhaniye and Ayvalik down to Izmir. If you would like to book the outward and return trips together, you can send both dates in the same message.
