How do you get from Izmir Airport to Burhaniye?

From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Burhaniye it is about 185 km, a drive that on most days takes 2.5–3 hours. Leaving the airport we turn north, pass Menemen and Aliaga and continue on the Izmir–Canakkale road. After the Dikili turn-off we cross into Balikesir province, and once we have passed Ayvalik and Gomec we arrive in Burhaniye on the southern shore of the Gulf of Edremit.

On the last stretch, along the southern side of the gulf, the road runs through olive groves; Burhaniye is known for its olive oil.

Where do people stay in Burhaniye?

Places to stay in Burhaniye fall into two areas. The town centre lies a little inland among the olive groves, with a bazaar, a market and public offices that keep it busy all year round. In summer, though, life moves to Oren, Burhaniye’s seaside neighbourhood, where holiday estates, apartment blocks and small hotels line a long sandy beach. Because Oren belongs to Burhaniye, the fare on this page applies there too.

Most estates in Oren can be entered through more than one gate. When you send us the estate name, block number or a map pin, we find the gate closest to you on the map beforehand and bring the vehicle right up to it. If you are staying in one of the villages behind the town, the village name is enough; we work out the last stretch with you using the location.

Oren in Burhaniye and Oren in Mugla

The name Oren turns up in more than one seaside town on the Aegean. There is also an Oren in Milas, in Mugla province, on the Gulf of Gokova, which is why we like to see the full address when you book. If you also travel back with us, we add the two one-way fares together. Addresses towards Gomec, Ayvalik or Edremit have a different fare. We take no prepayment; you pay in cash when you arrive in Burhaniye.

Returning from Burhaniye to Izmir Airport

On the way back we pick most of our guests up at the gate of their estate in Oren; since we already know the estate name and block number, we find the right gate without searching. If you are staying in the town centre or in a village, we pull up right outside your house.

For people closing up their summer home at the end of the season, the last morning is usually a busy one, so we set the pickup time together with you, based on your flight and on how much time you need before leaving the house. The return route runs via Gomec, Ayvalik, Aliaga and Menemen to the airport.
