How do you get from Izmir Airport to Ozdere?

From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Ozdere it is about 52 km, a drive that usually takes 45–55 minutes. The airport is on the southern side of Izmir, so we never get into city traffic. After leaving the terminal we head towards Menderes and drive south through the town. Then we cross the pine-covered hills behind the coast, come down to the sea and follow the coast road into Ozdere.

Once we are over the hills, the sea appears in front of us; it is a short drive, but the last part of it is lovely. Ozdere is one of the closest seaside resorts to the airport, so even after a late landing with small children the journey is not a tiring one.

If you are staying in a holiday home or flat, you may want to pick up a few groceries before you arrive. Just let us know when you book; we plan a short supermarket stop on the way and include it when we give you your estimated arrival time.

Where do people stay in Ozdere?

Ozdere stretches along the shore. Most of the all-inclusive hotels are on the main road that runs parallel to the sea, many of them right on the beach. Cukuralti and Orta Mahalle are two neighbourhoods of Ozdere; alongside the hotels, they have plenty of summer homes and flats where families from Izmir spend the summer. On the slopes above the shore you will find gated holiday complexes and villas.

When you send us the address of your hotel, complex or house, we check the location. Larger complexes sometimes have more than one entrance; if you tell us which gate you use, we take you straight to it. Whether you are in a beach hotel, a holiday complex or a villa on the hillside, we drop you right at the address you gave us.

South-east of Ozdere, the coast road passes Ahmetbeyli, close to the ancient sites of Klaros and Notion, and continues towards Pamucak and Selcuk. If you are staying in one of these places, send us your address; we will look at the location and tell you the correct transfer fare in advance. If Ephesus is where you are heading, the Selcuk route may be the one you need.

Ozdere, Gumuldur and Urkmez: what is the difference?

Several resorts sit close together on this coast, and their names are easily mixed up. Gumuldur is just north-west of Ozdere and, like Ozdere, belongs to the Menderes district. Urkmez, further along the coast, is part of Seferihisar and is covered on the Seferihisar route.

Addresses on this coast often show “Menderes” as the district name. If the listing for your rented house only says “Menderes, Izmir”, that is common; when you send us the address, we check which resort you are actually in and tell you which fare applies.

How much is a transfer from Izmir Airport to Ozdere?

Our transfer from Izmir Airport to Ozdere costs €40 / ₺2.250 per vehicle, one way. The price does not go up with the number of passengers: whether you are a couple or a large family with plenty of luggage, you pay the same fare. Most of the people who come to Ozdere in summer are families, often with children and grandparents, and a per-vehicle price helps them most. Our vehicle takes up to 7 passengers; if there are more of you, write to us on WhatsApp and we will plan an extra vehicle together.

For a return trip we simply add the two one-way fares together. We do not ask for any prepayment; you pay in cash at the end of the ride, once we have dropped you at your address.

This fare covers the whole resort, including Cukuralti and Orta Mahalle. Gumuldur has its own fare; for places just outside the resort, such as Ahmetbeyli, we tell you the fare in advance. The vehicle is reserved for you and your travel companions from start to finish.

Returning from Ozdere to Izmir Airport

For the trip back we pick you up at your hotel entrance, at the gate of your holiday complex or outside the house where you stayed. At a complex we use the same gate as on arrival; if you would rather leave from a different one, just write to us. If you are travelling with children, the free child seats you had on arrival are in the vehicle again for the return; just tell us how many you need.

We agree the pickup time with you based on your flight. As the route does not pass through the city, the journey time is predictable on most days; still, if you let us know how much luggage you have and when you check out, planning is easier. If there is a long gap between checking out and your flight, we can set the pickup time with that in mind too.
