From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Sirince it is about 75 km, a drive that usually takes 1–1.5 hours. The drive starts on the Izmir–Aydin motorway, via Torbali as far as Selcuk. Past Selcuk a narrow road winds up into the hills to the east, through olive groves and orchards. This last climb is the slowest stretch, but the shortest.
If anyone gets carsick on bends, or you travel with children, we can pause briefly in Selcuk; tell us when booking and we include it in your arrival time.
Where do people stay in Sirince?
Sirince is a former Greek village known for its old stone houses on the hillside, its fruit wines and its olive oil. Most people stay in small boutique hotels and guesthouses in converted old houses, by the bazaar or on quieter lanes. The village belongs to Selcuk; visitors often head first for the Church of St John the Baptist and the wine houses in the lanes.

How far can the car go in the village?
The old centre of Sirince is a web of steep, narrow lanes, most closed to cars. Vehicles usually stop at the edge of the village, and you walk the last part. A medium-sized wheeled case is handier here than a large suitcase.
At weekends and on holidays, day visitors can make the entrance area busy. We check in advance which side of the village is nearer your hotel’s lane.
