From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Dalyan in Cesme we have a drive of about 100 km, which takes 1–1.5 hours on most days. From the airport we take the ring road and from there onto the Izmir–Cesme motorway. We pass the Urla and Alacati exits, stay on the motorway to its end and, as we approach Cesme, branch off north towards Dalyan. Coming down into the village, the small harbour with its moored fishing boats and the bay open up in front of us.
If you are travelling with small children or would like a quick comfort stop on the way, just mention it in your booking and we give you an arrival time that allows for it.
Where do people stay in Dalyan?
Dalyan is an old fishing village just north of Cesme town. The heart of the village is the harbour: fish restaurants line the waterfront, and on summer evenings it is a lively place. Most people stay in guesthouses and small hotels near the harbour, while the slopes around the bay have holiday homes and estates. Dalyan suits those who want to be close to Cesme town but somewhere quieter.
The streets near the harbour are narrow and can be busy in the evening. When you send us the location of where you are staying, we check it on the map; if we can reach the guesthouse door, we drop you there, and if not, at the nearest point your host suggests. For the estates on the slopes, the location of the entrance gate is enough.

Dalyan in Cesme and Dalyan in Mugla
These two names are easy to mix up.
For most people, “Dalyan” means the town in the Ortaca district of Mugla, known for the Kaunos rock tombs, boat trips through the reed beds and Iztuzu beach, where loggerhead turtles nest. This page, however, is for Dalyan in the Cesme district of Izmir. The two Dalyans are in different regions of Turkey, and the journeys to them from Izmir have nothing in common.
If you are heading for Dalyan in Mugla, the journey time and fare on this page do not apply; Dalaman Airport is much closer to that area. If your hotel address says “Cesme” or “Izmir”, you are on the right page.
How much is a transfer from Izmir Airport to Dalyan?
Our Izmir Airport to Dalyan transfer fare is €65 / ₺3.500 per vehicle, one way. The fare is not calculated per person: two friends heading for a guesthouse by the harbour pay the same as a family of six spending the holiday in a house on the slopes. If we also drive you back, the return costs exactly the same again. There is no prepayment; you pay in cash when you arrive in Dalyan. If you need a child seat, mention it in your booking and we have it ready free of charge. The vehicle is reserved for you alone for the whole ride.
Return from Dalyan to Izmir Airport
On the day you leave, we pick you up outside your guesthouse or hotel; in the narrow streets around the harbour, we meet at the car point your host shows us. For the estates on the slopes, we wait at the estate gate.
We agree the pickup time with you based on your check-out and whether your flight is domestic or international. The harbour area gets busy on summer evenings, so if you are leaving in the evening, confirming the meeting point the day before makes things easier. No. This route is for Dalyan in the Cesme district of Izmir, the fishing village just north of Cesme town. Dalyan in Mugla's Ortaca district is a different place, and Dalaman Airport is much closer to it.
How long is the drive from Izmir Airport to Dalyan?
1–1.5 hours on most days. Most of it is on the Izmir–Cesme motorway; as we approach Cesme we turn north to Dalyan.
