From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Ildir we have a drive of about 95 km, which takes 1–1.5 hours on most days. Leaving the airport, we first take the Izmir ring road onto the Izmir–Cesme motorway and head past Urla into the peninsula. After leaving the motorway, we turn towards the north-east coast. On the last stretch the road narrows and winds down to the village, and the bay in front of Ildir slowly comes into view.
If you would like a short break on the way after a long flight, just let us know. We include the stop when we tell you your expected arrival time in the village.
Where do people stay in Ildir?
Ildir is a small, quiet village. Most people stay in village houses and small guesthouses; there are hardly any large hotels. In the evening the fish restaurants by the water are the liveliest place in the village. Those who choose Ildir are usually looking for a simple holiday away from the crowds.
The lanes inside the village are narrow, so a car cannot always reach every door. When you send us the location of your guesthouse or rented house, we check it on the map and drive to the door wherever a car can get in. Where it cannot, we stop at the spot your host describes.

Ildir, Ildır and Erythrai: are they the same place?
The names can get a little mixed up here. On maps and booking sites the village is written as “Ildir”, “Ildır” or sometimes “İldir” – it is all the same village.
Erythrai is the ancient city whose ruins lie on the hill just above the village; it was one of the twelve Ionian cities. From the remains of the ancient theatre on the hill you can see the village and the bay at the same time, and many people walk up for the sunset. Some bookings give “Erythrai” as the address; in that case too, we are heading for Ildir village.
Ildir belongs to the Cesme district, but it lies away from Cesme town, in the north-east of the peninsula, so its fare is separate from Cesme town.
How much is a transfer from Izmir Airport to Ildir?
Our Izmir Airport Ildir transfer costs €65 / ₺3.500 per vehicle, one way. The fare does not go up with the number of passengers: a large family sharing a village house pays the same as a couple coming for a few quiet days. The vehicle is reserved for you alone, and we do not pick up anyone else on the way. Our Mercedes Vito has room for up to 7 people; for bigger groups, message us on WhatsApp and we arrange an extra vehicle together.
Going there and back? Then you simply pay two one-way fares. We do not ask for any payment in advance; you pay in cash when you arrive in Ildir.

Return from Ildir to Izmir Airport
For the way back we pick you up outside your guesthouse or house, or, if a car cannot get in, at the point your host shows us. If you would have to walk down narrow lanes with your suitcases, tell us and we choose the meeting point together.
We agree the pickup time for the return with you, based on your guesthouse check-out and your flight. The road out of the village is narrow and winding, so we allow for it when we settle the time. You can book both directions in one go.
