How do you get from Izmir Airport to Gumuldur?

From Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Gumuldur it is about 50 km, a drive that usually takes 40–55 minutes; it is one of the shorter routes on this coast. Leaving the terminal, we do not turn towards the city centre but head straight south towards Menderes. Once Menderes is behind us, we pass between the hills behind the coast and come down to Gumuldur’s long beach.

As the drive is short, a break is not usually needed. Still, if you would like to pick up a few things such as water, bread or baby food before opening up your summer house, just write it in your booking; we add a short stop at a supermarket on the way.

Where do people stay in Gumuldur?

Gumuldur is a seaside resort in the Menderes district, stretching along a long sandy beach. Most accommodation is in holiday complexes lined up one after another along the shore; many families from Izmir have had a summer home here for years. There are also hotels and guesthouses near the beach, but it is the holiday complexes that give the place its character.

Seen from the road, many of these complexes look alike, so the complex name, block or door number and a location pin are the details that help most in finding the right entrance. When you send them to us, we check the location in advance and drop you at the complex gate, or outside your block if cars are allowed inside. If you are staying in a hotel, its name is usually enough. If you are going to your own summer house but are not sure how the address is written, sharing the location from your phone works just as well.

Gumuldur’s neighbours: Ozdere, Urkmez and Sigacik

The resorts on this coast are so close to each other that it is not always easy to tell where one ends and the next begins. Ozdere, south-east of Gumuldur, also belongs to Menderes but is a separate resort with its own route page and fare. How much is a transfer from Izmir Airport to Gumuldur?

Our transfer from Izmir Airport to Gumuldur costs €40 / ₺2.250 per vehicle, one way. The vehicle is reserved only for you, and we drive straight to your address without picking up anyone else. The fare is not calculated per person; it stays the same however many of you are in the vehicle. For families coming to a summer house for a few weeks, with beach bags and a pushchair on top of the suitcases, that difference is felt straight away.

If you are thinking about both directions, the sum is simple: two one-way fares added together. We do not take any payment in advance for a booking; you pay in cash when we reach Gumuldur, at the end of the ride.

This fare applies to the whole resort; if you are staying in Ozdere, in Urkmez or elsewhere on the Seferihisar side, the fare for that route applies.

Returning from Gumuldur to Izmir Airport

On the day you leave, we pick you up at the gate of your complex, outside your block or at your hotel entrance. As we found the right entrance together on arrival, meeting at the same spot on the way back is usually easy.

If you need to close up the summer house and hand over the keys, we take that into account too; we agree the pickup time with you based on your flight and your plans for leaving the house. Even though the drive to the airport is short, we do not cut the timing fine, and we allow for luggage and check-in when we plan it together.
